Limassol, Cyprus - In a significant step towards AI transformation in healthcare, the German Medical Institute (GMI) has partnered with Newton’s Tree to further the safe and effective deployment of AI in clinical settings. This collaboration marks the beginning of a long-term partnership to bring responsible, clinically integrated AI into routine practice across its health system.
GMI are working with Newton’s Tree to shape their AI strategy and roadmap by identifying clinical and operational pain points, and testing AI applications in the sandbox environment before clinical deployment. To align with GMIs’ strategic priorities, initial focus areas include agentic tools to improve access to clinical guidelines and SOPs, as well as radiology AI applications supporting patient triage and diagnostics. GMI has demonstrated a clear commitment to AI adoption and has established a dedicated AI steering group within their AI department to lead this work.
Konstantinos Zamboglou, Chief Medical Officer at German Medical Institute, commented:
At GMI, we see AI not as a standalone innovation, but as a tool to strengthen the quality, safety, and precision of the care we deliver. Our collaboration with Newton’s Tree reflects a deliberate step toward integrating AI responsibly, grounded in clinical need. We’re focused on ensuring that any technology we adopt has clear patient benefit and fits into real-world practice.
Paul Doolan, Director of AI at GMI, highlighted the importance of this initiative:
This partnership is about more than just technology, it’s about building a process for safely and effectively deploying AI at scale. Newton’s Tree brings the technical infrastructure and governance expertise we need to evaluate and implement applications that support clinical teams. We’re now working together to identify high-impact applications and prepare them for real-world testing.
Newton’s Tree’s enterprise AI platform enables healthcare providers to select, test, deploy, and monitor third-party AI applications as part of routine care pathways. Their vendor-neutral platform is built on open standards and supports deployment and monitoring of AI software across all specialties, including pre-market products. This partnership reflects Newton’s Tree’s broader mission: to help build AI-enabled health systems.
Haris Shuaib, CEO of Newton’s Tree and NHS Consultant Clinical Scientist, shared his vision for the partnership:
GMI is exactly the kind of partner we look to work with, forward-thinking, clinically engaged, and committed to adopting AI in a safe, responsible way. They’ve built strong foundations through their AI Department, and we’re excited to support them as they scale real-world AI solutions across their organisation.
